Some toys get played with for a week. This one becomes the soundtrack of childhood.
Our wooden music set has everything a little musician needs. A xylophone with bars in soft sage, cream, honey and burnt orange. A pair of maracas. A tambourine with a pale blue rim. A guiro and scraper, a wooden flute, a jingle bell stick and a shiny metal triangle.
Every piece is made to be held by small hands. The colors are calm and earthy, so the set looks lovely out on a nursery shelf, not hidden in a toy box.
Then we add the part that makes it theirs. Your child’s name, engraved on the instruments. Gift it at a first birthday, a baby shower or a new sibling welcome. It’s the kind of present people remember.
Let them bang, shake, tap and make a joyful mess of noise. That’s how music begins.
